Americom Telephone Systems, Inc. (ATS) was formed in 1986 with the divestiture of ITT (International Telephone and Telegraph). The nucleus of Americom is comprised of former ITT Business Communications Corporation management, engineers, technicians and customer service representatives, with telecommunications experience in excess of 175 years. ITT selected ATS to service their installed base and to sell their products to the Mid-Atlantic region. ATS has more than justified this selection by capturing ITT's highest dealership status awards every year since the company's inception.

ITT's selection of ATS allowed us to enter the marketplace with a strong base of 4,200 customers. This customer base included ITT's System 3100 family of PBXs along with its Key and Terryphone systems. We are very proud that, unlike much of the competition, we continue to provide service and technical support on every product we have sold in the Mid-Atlantic region.

NEC America, Inc. sought out and chose ATS as their "Prime" distributor in the Mid-Atlantic region. This is the highest grade of dealership available from NEC. NEC is the only manufacturer in the world to be ranked in the top five in three categories most critical to business communications: Computers, Component Chips, and Telecommunications. ATS sales, customer service, and technical support personnel are continually trained and certified to design, implement and maintain NEC PBX systems, Key systems, Voice Mail platforms and OAI/CTI applications. ATS considers its technical capabilities to be the finest in the interconnect industry, with in-house engineering support in both of our branches. With Americom's team approach, we have designed and implemented telecommunications systems as small as a 4-telephone Key system to as large as a 10,000+ line voice/data PBX system.

ATS is a very financially sound company and maintains substantial inventories in each of its locations. This not only allows us to provide superior service to our installed customer base, but also considerably decreases the interval from new system order placement and unit installation. ATS sales and service offices are strategically located in Harrisburg, PA, and Beltsville, MD, allowing us to provide the best and most economical service in the Mid-Atlantic region.
